<description>This time is about the Americas..not UK. I bought books about true stories of &#x27;The Gunfighters&#x27; &#x26; &#x27;The Cowboys&#x27; published by the Times. Found really amazing photographs inside and thought that it would be wise to share here.

<title>.: summer and painting :.</title>
<description>... after a long cold weather (and of course with lots of rains here), it is time to enjoy the sun (but somehow it still rains). anyway, i was enjoying myself too when the day is longer..

Some of my collection of Lake District photos, situated in Cumbria, North England where the scenery is so beautiful. A place for relaxing, caravan, camping, trekking, boating and picnicking for sure.

Captured and edited into painting mode, just out of my curiosity and I thought it should be an eye catching...

<title>.: J&#xF3;rv&#xED;k Viking Festival :.</title>
<description>A trip to York, organised by the International Society
The idea was to experience the &#x27;J&#xF3;rv&#xED;k Viking Festival&#x27;. Well, nothing much actually except 2 things; the &#x27;Viking battle&#x27; and &#x27;J&#xF3;rv&#xED;k Centre&#x27; where we can see and travel on a &#x27;time car&#x27; to the recreated 9th century Viking settlement; uncovered in 1976 during an excavation work. York is surrounded by its 13th century city walls; an impressive surviving medieval fortifications in Europe.

J&#xF3;rv&#xED;k (pronounced as Yorvik) was the Viking name of York, a city in north England. A &#x22;great Viking army&#x22; captured York in AD 866, and in 876 the Vikings settled permanently in parts of the Yorkshire countryside. Viking kings ruled this area, known to historians as &#x22;The Viking Kingdom of Jorvik&#x22;, for almost a century. In 954 the last Viking king, Eric Bloodaxe, was expelled and his kingdom was incorporated in the newly consolidated Anglo-Saxon state.

<title>.: Snow in Spring :.</title>
<description>It&#x27;s 3/3/2006. The flower buds are showing-off and ready to bloom anytime by now. Perhaps in other places people is very eager to see flowers and started counting the days. But it was snowing here. No wonder it was very chilly during the day though the sun smiled at us up there.
And on the same early morning I made a decision on something that I thought would change my future and definitely it&#x27;s wierd..Well, that decision now became a burden to me when I kept thinking about it. It&#x27;s haunting me now.. :-S
Was it a mistake? Was it a wise decision? :egg: :oh_god:

Thinking about it made me feel terrible today and I went out to the park to take some fresh air..

Who&#x27;s blind?

Life&#x27;s like that..and sometimes life isn&#x27;t fair to us?

Thanks to all of friends who give their comments, also for the advices and concerns as well. I really appreciate them. With the advices &#x26; supports, I shall move on and look forward for the better &#x26; brighter future!!
Sincere thanks to all of you.. ;-) :flowers: </description>

<title>.: Annecy &#x26; Milano~~the journey continues :.</title>
<description>Driving from Geneve to Annecy in France took us about an hour (22 miles south of Geneva). On our way we stopped by at &#x27;Pont de la Caille&#x27; or Charles-Albertto, a beautiful old bridge, located at the north of Annecy.

Pont de la Caille, the 192m long suspension, built in 1839

Annecy town - a beautiful &#x26; peaceful tourist attraction

Lake Annecy (French Lac d&#x27;Annecy) is a lake in Haute-Savoie in France and is the second largest lake in France, after lac du Bourget, except for the French part of lac L&#xE9;man (Lake Geneva). It is known as &#x22;Europe&#x27;s cleanest lake&#x22; because of strict environmental regulations introduced in the 1960s. It is a popular tourist destination known for its swimming and water sports.

Road tour from Geneva to Milan, we stopped by at Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, or more commonly, Chamonix, a town and commune in eastern France, at the foot of Mont Blanc. Chamonix is a popular winter sports resort in France with some of the best skiing runs in the world. The 1924 Winter Olympics were held here. Chamonix is famous for its spectacular cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi (3842m).
Mont Blanc (Fr., &#x22;White Mountain&#x22;) or Monte Bianco (Italiano) also known as La Dame Blanche (Fr., White Lady), in the Alps, is the highest mountain in Western Europe. Its height is about 4,810 metres (15,780 feet), but varies from year to year by a few metres, depending on snowfall and climate conditions. The highest mountain in Europe is Elbrus, which is about 5,642 metres high (18,506 feet).
Begun in 1957 and completed in 1965, the 11.6 kilometer (7.25 mile) Mont Blanc Tunnel runs beneath the mountain between two cities; Chamonix, Haute-Savoie (France) and Courmayeur, Valle d&#x27;Aosta (Italy).

Milano
Milan (Italian: Milano; Milanese dialect: Mil&#xE1;n) is the main city in northern Italy, and is located in the plains of Lombardy, the most populated and developed region in Italy
Milan Arch of Peace

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele on the Piazza Duomo, reputed to be the world&#x27;s oldest shopping mall[/b]

One thing that made the difference when we entered Italy were the drivers!! Totally different from Swiss or even UK. Reading the road signs in Milan was such a worst experience (not forgetting the traffic!) and made us felt so tired of trying to find a particular road to get out of the town. There&#x27;s no photo of the famous Milano Duomo, the third largest cathedral in the world after St. Peter&#x27;s in Rome and the Cathedral of Seville as it was still covered by canvas for refurbishment work :-(
Milano Castello Sforzesco
The Sforzesco Castle, one of the most famous monuments in Milan, has seen long historical vicissitudes during the past years. It was demolished, then rebuilt several times, embellished and restored to become a symbol of both happy and dramatic events that are to be found in the historical background of the city.

<title>.: Confoederatio Helvetica :.</title>
<description>Motto: Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno (&#x22;One for all, all for one&#x22;)
The Swiss Confederation or Switzerland (Latin: Confoederatio Helvetica, German Schweiz, French Suisse, Italian Svizzera, Romansh Svizra) is a landlocked Alpine country in Central Europe with a strong economy in finance and banking. Switzerland has borders with Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein. Switzerland is a confederation and has a long and strong tradition of political and military neutrality. This background allows Switzerland various international co-operations and organizations.
Confoederatio Helvetica is the country&#x27;s official Latin name, to avoid having to favor one of the four official languages. The abbreviation (CH) is similarly used. The Latin title Confoederatio Helvetica means Helvetic Confederation. The titles commonly used in French, Italian and Romansh translate as Swiss Confederation, while the German name of Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft translates roughly as &#x22;Swiss Oath Fellowship&#x22; or &#x22;Swiss Commonwealth of the Covenant&#x22;.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.orgGeneva (Geneve)

Zurich (Z&#xFC;rich)
The Canton of Z&#xFC;rich (German: Kanton Z&#xFC;rich) has a population of about 1.2 million. The canton is located in the northeast of Switzerland and the city of Z&#xFC;rich is its capital. The official language is German, but people speak the local Swiss German dialect called Z&#xFC;rit&#xFC;&#xFC;tsch (in German).

Lucern (Luzern)
Lucerne (German Luzern) is a canton of Switzerland. It is located in the centre of Switzerland. The population is 350,600 (as of 2001). The cantonal capital is Lucerne. Wasserturm and Kapellbr&#xFC;cke - the town&#x27;s two most famous landmarks

Montreux
Montreux is a resort town in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland, on Lake Geneva.

The Chillon Castle (Ch&#xE2;teau de Chillon) is located on the shore of Lake Geneva near Montreux, Switzerland. The castle consists of 25 independent buildings that were gradually connected and now form a single whole.
